Where to Stay in Taormina, Sicily: My Guide to the Best Hotels

Whenever I come to Taormina, one of my favorite parts of the trip is choosing a hotel with the perfect view of Mount Etna or the Ionian Sea. Taormina has incredible options at every budget, from five-star resorts with infinity pools to cozy family-run hotels. Here’s my personal guide on where to stay in Taormina Sicily, broken down by luxury, mid-range, and budget stays—based on recent reviews and my own experiences.

Where Should You Stay in Taormina?

If it’s your first trip, I’d recommend staying in town (Grand Hotel Timeo, San Domenico Palace, Villa Schuler, Paradiso) so you can walk everywhere at night. If you’re dreaming of beach days, go for Taormina Mare (Villa Sant’Andrea, Mazzarò Sea Palace, Panoramic, Garden) and ride the cable car into town. Whether you want the glamorous White Lotus experience or a cozy trattoria-side hotel, Taormina has a stay for every budget.

Best Luxury Hotels in Taormina

These are the hotels I’d pick if you want to splurge. They’re famous for breathtaking views, private beaches, Michelin-level dining, and world-class service.

Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel

An iconic Taormina address beside the Greek Theatre. I love the elegant gardens and terraces with Mount Etna views.

San Domenico Palace, A Four Seasons Hotel (The White Lotus Hotel)

If you watched The White Lotus season 2, you’ve already seen this stunning property. A former monastery turned into a Four Seasons resort, it’s now one of the most famous hotels in Sicily. Guests rave about the infinity pool, the faultless service, and the cinematic setting that truly lives up to the hype.

Villa Sant’Andrea, A Belmond Hotel (Taormina Mare)

Located right on the bay with private beach access. I’d stay here for the serene seaside vibe and terrace breakfasts.

Atlantis Bay – VRetreats

Built into the cliffs over Baia delle Sirene. The rooms are spacious, and the pool area is one of the best in Taormina.

Mazzarò Sea Palace – Leading Hotels of the World

Steps from the beach at Mazzarò Bay. This is where I’d book if I wanted a honeymoon-worthy seaside stay with cable car access to town.

Best Mid-Range Hotels in Taormina

If you want something stylish but not overly pricey, these mid-range hotels balance comfort, location, and charm.

Hotel Villa Belvedere

Guests love the pool and sea-view rooms. It’s close enough to the center but still peaceful.

Hotel Villa Ducale

A boutique hotel with panoramic views of Etna. I’d recommend it for couples wanting something romantic but relaxed.

Villa Fiorita Boutique Hotel

A modern design stay with an infinity-style pool. Perfect if you want something fresh and close to the cable car.

NH Collection Taormina

Right in the heart of the town with a rooftop terrace. Reviews highlight the excellent breakfasts and helpful staff.

Hotel Metropole Taormina

Boutique luxury along Corso Umberto. I’d stay here for the sea views and central location.

Taormina Panoramic Hotel

Just above Isola Bella beach with a rooftop pool. This is ideal if you want beach days but also quick town access.

Hotel Sirius

Quiet location with great terraces and views. It’s a short walk to the center, making it a relaxing choice.

UNAHOTELS Capotaormina

Dramatically perched on the cliffs. The private beach tunnel and sea-view pool are unbeatable.

Hotel Villa Paradiso

A classic hotel in the center with rooftop breakfasts. I like that it also offers beach club access.

Hotel Villa Schuler

Charming, historic, and family-run. The lush gardens and views make it feel like a secret retreat.

Best Budget Hotels in Taormina

For travelers like me who sometimes want to save on accommodation and spend more on food and activities, these budget hotels are excellent value.

Hotel Condor

Simple but with a great sea-view breakfast terrace. The staff are warm and welcoming.

Hotel Isabella

Right on Corso Umberto. I’d stay here for the central location and rooftop breakfasts.

Hotel Victoria

A family-run spot in the heart of town. It’s affordable, clean, and convenient.

Hotel Villa Nettuno

Budget-friendly with vintage charm and spectacular views. Guests love the friendly owners.

Taormina Garden Hotel

Close to Mazzarò and Isola Bella. A quiet garden breakfast and easy beach access make this a hidden gem.
